What is Foupons.com? Who is Foupons?: Foupons.com is the answer to what's for dinner, what's new in town, what's good, and what’s on the menu?
What cities are you located in?: We have built a database of restaurants across the nation. We are in the process of acquiring restaurant members across the country. Even if we're not in your area at the moment, sign up, and we'll tell you about the promotions when they arrive.
What is does "Foupon" mean?: It's actually a play on words. Restaurants serve "food" and we bring promotions from restaurants to you in the form of an online "coupon". Combine the two, and you have a "Foupon".

Account Settings

How do I edit my password?: Click "(your name)'s Foupons", "Settings", then "Edit Password" on the left.
What's the deal with profile settings?: You can customize what other people can see about your account. If you select "Friends" for "See My Friends list" then only people that you've invited or confirmed to be your friend can see your friends list.
How do I opt out of receiving certain emails?: At the bottom of the email you wish to opt out on, click "Unsubscribe," and you will be removed from any future mailing of that particular email.

Favorites

What are favorites?: When you are viewing a restaurant's page and would to "bookmark" it for future reference, click "Add to Favorites".
How do I see my favorites list?: Click "(your name)'s Foupons" in the header and then click "Favorites". There's your list.

Foupons

Why is a Foupon better then a normal Coupon?: A coupon in a magazine, newspaper, or coupon book is delivered to you without any regard to whether or not you're willing to use it. Foupons tailors our Foupon delivery system to your preferences. You tell us your location, whether it's work, home, or school and we show you content that is only relevant to you.
How do I find a Foupon on the site?: You can find Foupons in your area by using our Search Feature. If the location running a promotion, a Foupon icon will appear in the listing.
How do I use a Foupon?: Very Simple. Find the Foupon you want and open it. Click "Print Foupon," and walk to your printer. If you're a "neat freak" cut the Foupon out using the dotted line and a pair of scissors. If not, fold the paper, and put it into your pocket. Next, go to the restaurant, order your food, and hand them the Foupon.

Friends

What is a Foupons.com friend?: We kept it simple. If you want to follow what another person is up to on Foupons.com, request to be their friend. After they accept friendship, depending on their settings, you might see more profile information. And now you have a bookmark to your friend.
How do I manage my friends?: Click "(your name)'s Foupons" and then "Friends". From there you can search for, add, delete, and link to friends on Foupons.
If I remove a friend what happens?: That friend will be gone from your friend list, but you will remain on their list.

Menus

How do I search for Menu Items?: On any page in the site, go to the header (the blue bar at the top), type in the menu item you are looking for into "Menu Item", then the location you want to search around, click "Go" and menus that are in our system that match will appear.
My favorite restaurant's menu is not on the site. Why??: They are not yet a member of Foupons.com. The next time you go into that restaurant, say to the owner "hey, I'm and don't want to have to look through my drawer for your menu, put it on Foupons!".

Ratings

What's the difference between Ratings and Reviews?: On Foupons we give you a few choices to give your opinion. You can either quietly rate something by giving it any number of stars out of five in a variety of categories, OR you can write a text review that others may read and vote on. Note: writing a review requires you to rate it as well.
How do I rate something?: Hover over the stars when you are searching or on a restaurant's page and a rating box will pop up. Simply click the stars in each category and your vote is recorded.

Restaurants

What if I can't find a restaurant on Foupons?: On the Search page there is a link to tell us to add a restaurant. After verification, we'll have you request live on the site so you can review, rate, and lookup at any time.
The restaurant I'm looking at has wrong information, now what?: On the restaurant's page there is a link in the upper right to tell us about. We take pride in the validity of our data, so please pitch in and help if you notice something not right.
How is Foupons recommending me restaurants?: Once you've made an account and have rated or reviewed something, we begin to generalize your preferences. From there we can match you with other people with similar tastes. We then recommend restaurants that you have not rated or reviewed to you that other poeple you match like.

Reviews

How do I write a review?: When you are viewing a restaurant's page click the "Write a Review" button to sound off.
I want to change my masterpiece. Can I edit my review?: Yes, you can edit your review by going to "(your name)'s Foupons" in the header and then click "My Opinions". Find the review you'd like to change click to edit. Please note: if you edit your review you will lose any "helpful votes" for that review.
Can I use HTML in my review?: No. We would like everyone's review to have the chance at being read by the masses and don't want to reward the individual that became bold-happy. Sometimes simpler is better!
